The United Fresh Produce Association has promoted Amanda Griffin to vice president of education and program management.

Griffin joined the association in the fall of 2013 to support the organization’s meetings and member programs.

“Amanda has proved herself a dedicated leader, creative advocate for enhancing our programs and committed organizer who sweats the small details while understanding the big picture,” said United Fresh President and CEO Tom Stenzel. “All of those positive attributes combine to position Amanda well for taking on even greater leadership of our programs throughout the year.”

One notable program that Griffin manages is United Fresh’s Produce Industry Leadership Program. The program, now celebrating its 25th anniversary, has graduated hundreds of fellows who have continued their successful careers in the produce industry. Today’s graduates are executives of major produce businesses, leaders of prominent organizations, and some of the most well-known people in the industry. Many serve on the boards of directors and organizational committees of the nation’s most successful companies.

In addition, Griffin serves as the staff liaison to the Produce Leadership Alumni Organization. This group offers program graduates opportunities to continue their leadership journeys and give back to the produce community.

“I have been overwhelmed by Amanda’s tireless efforts on behalf of the Produce Industry Leadership Program and the industry at large,” said Executive Vice President of MIXTEC Group Kristen Reid, who serves as chairwoman of United Fresh’s Produce Leadership Alumni Organization. “She is a shining example of the leadership our industry needs. I am happy to offer my congratulations on this well-earned career advancement.”
