Vidalia Onion Season Roaring Out Of The Gate

Vidalia Onion season roared out of the gate at 8 a.m. April 22 — we were there live for this report for our broadcast partner the RFD-TV Network.

The crop is down some 2000 acres this year, from 11,000-plus acres to 9,000-plus.

But yields and quality are excellent. There will be plenty of Vidalias to go around, though we can expect an earlier end to the storage onion this year (in other words, get your orders in early — and if you’re taking them home, remember they’ll keep all summer.
