Fans rejoice! April 22 is the official start of Vidalia Onion season. Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture Gary Black sets the date each year (the State actually holds the Vidalia onion trademark) and the first Vidalias begin running down the packing lines at 8 a.m. and are soon on their way to stores.
We talked with some of Vidalia’s finest growers to get a preview of this year’s crop for our broadcast partner The RFD-TV Network.
And we will be in the fields broadcasting live on Opening Day, so stay tuned!
