The new chairman of the Georgia Grown Commodity Commission Board practices what he preaches. The program is known for marketing Georgia products around the world — new chief Dave Legasse has been doing that for years.
Legasse and wife Carol run a series of South Georgia stores called The Salt Table LLC, with its flagship location in historic Savannah.
So who better to talk about Georgia Grown agriculture and products?
“I’m a believer because of the many people I have met who are so committed to their products, the quality of their products and the flavors they produce,” Legasse says. “It’s an amazing bunch of people and I am really proud to be part of that organization.”
Legasse brings more than 40 years experience in marketing and public relations to hid new job. The Georgia Grown program includes fruits and vegetables, livestock, seafood and forestry products, along with homegrown restaurants and retail stores like Legasse’s.
We caught up for a conversation with Legasse about his new role with Georgia Grown in an interview for our broadcast partner the RFD-TV Network.
BONUS: Next week we’ll take a visit to The Salt Table in Savannah.
