A fixture on the West Coast, Moxxy Marketing has announced the opening of a satellite office in Atlanta, GA, providing its first boots-on-the-ground presence in the Southeast. The firm also just announced a wave of new personnel additions.
The Atlanta office aims to create new opportunities to connect with ag and fresh produce brands in the Southeast and to better serve existing clients with interests in that region.
“Moxxy has shared our expertise with ag brands all over the country from our headquarters here in Salinas, CA,” said Moxxy President and CEO Karen Nardozza. “But we’ve also seen that some brands like to work with an agency with a closer geographic presence. So this new office in Atlanta should make Moxxy an even more appealing marketing resource for companies in the Southeast and east coast.”
Moxxy also announced three new additions to the staff: Creative Director and Managing Partner Travis Sharp, Art Director Renée Balducci and Account Coordinator Katianna Tron.
Sharp has worked as an advertising creative leader for over two decades for brands including Coca-Cola, Toyota, Marvel, Delta Airlines, Playskool, Walt Disney, Georgia Pacific, Stainmaster, Bazooka Bubblegum, the PGA, and Wonderbread. Notable previous roles include creative leadership at DDB New York and global digital marketing powerhouse Nurun.
Over his career, Sharp has garnered over 100 advertising awards on behalf of his clients. Moxxy plans to harness Sharp’s world-class experience to bring a competitive marketing advantage to their agriculture and fresh-produce focused clients.
“I’m so excited about working with Moxxy that I’ve got butterflies in my stomach,” says Sharp. “Over the years I’ve worked with every type of client you can imagine, but there’s something refreshing about Moxxy’s incredible roster of brand partners. These are the brands that feed America and the world—they’re not just selling a product, they’re making a difference. I’m glad to be part of that.”
Balducci brings extensive art direction and design capabilities to the firm, along with decades of experience creating packaging and marketing for multiple brands in the fresh produce, agriculture and wine industries including Andy Boy, Blue Diamond, Church Brothers, Fernwood Cellars, Holman Ranch and Mariani.
Her expansive skill set includes branding and identity, print and web design, label and packaging design, illustration and photography, and creative concept development. Prior to joining Moxxy, Balducci worked at multiple agencies, including managing her own design studio. Most recently, she ran her own freelance consulting practice.
Balducci is a Monterey County native who currently resides in Prunedale. She earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic communication from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
“I’ll be honest, I wasn’t looking for a full-time agency role; I was very happy running my own freelance business,” said Balducci. “Then I started working with Moxxy and everything changed. The clients are diverse and exciting. The culture is open and invigorating. And the team is like a family—sometimes fun, sometimes challenging, but always supportive.”
Though only two years out of college, Katianna Tron’s career has already included roles as a marketing consultant for a startup and marketing manager for a chain of bakeries and cafés. She brings a passion for working with people and a strong streak of creativity to the agency.
Tron is a Southern California native who currently resides in Salinas. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English and psychology from the College of William and Mary.
“I feel like this job, and Moxxy itself, are the perfect fit for me,” said Tron. “I love creativity, strategy, precise language and innovative thinking. Moxxy integrates these passions into my everyday work. And I also love working with people to make things happen. Moxxy’s staff and clients make up an exciting and cohesive team that never ceases to impress me.”
“Moxxy is in an exciting stage of growth,” says Nardozza. “These two outstanding hires are evidence of that. Renée is an incredible design professional, and she knows the ag industry in a way few other art directors do. Katianna brings contagious energy and creativity to the agency. She has a rare skill set that combines organizational ability, ingenuity and grace under pressure that makes for a great account team member.”
