After a successful workshop collaboration at the Southeast Produce Council Southern Innovations Organics & Foodservice Expo in September, SEPC has announced it will be teaming up with the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) to present its signature research, The Power of Produce, at Southern Exposure annually, starting in Tampa March 1-3, 2018.
United Fresh Produce Association will present its Lifetime Achievement Award to Hugh Topper, Group Vice President of Fresh Foods for H-E-B, at its Foundation Gala Dinner Jan. 16, at the Rancho Bernardo Inn in San Diego, CA.
Each year throughout the months of July and August the National Watermelon Promotion Board (NWPB) hosts a Retail Display Contest to help retailers drive watermelon sales. Now in its ninth year, the contest continues to grow with entries from retailers and commissaries in the United States and Canada.
LGS Specialty Sales (LGS), leading importer and distributor of citrus and avocados, has announced the unveiling of its newly revamped Darling Clementines and Suavo Avocado product branding. With packaging designs currently underway, the new branding is expected to hit stores in late November.
During the holiday season, Produce for Kids will donate one meal to aid in Feeding America’s® disaster relief efforts for every share of its Holiday Meal Drive Facebook post and new Produce for Kids Facebook fan. Produce for Kids’ first Holiday Meal Drive took place during the 2016 holiday season and helped to secure 15,223 meals for families in need through Feeding America.
