VIDEO — Golf: It’s An SEPC Thing — The Tour Hits Hilton Head Island

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC — The PGA it’s not, but the Southeast Produce Council has a proud golfing past and uh… some kind of future on courses around the region, as the most recent outing here on the Island most assuredly proves.

The Founders Memorial Golf Tournament, held here along the Atlantic coastline at the Port Royal Golf Club Sept. 30, was played in conjunction with the 2017 Southern Innovations Organics and Foodservice Expo at the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort.

A wide range of talents were on display. It was clear that there are some who missed their true calling. And some who just missed everything altogether.

Port Royal is ranked one of the “Top 75 U.S. Golf Resorts” by Golf Digest magazine. We’re happy to report that will still be the case, no matter what happened out there Sept. 30.

SPW Editor Chip Carter and Video Guru Jenni Kight took to the links Saturday morning to see who had what. Here’s the full report.

Look for ongoing video coverage of Southern Exposure, including looks at the expo, the Southern Roots luncheon, the Friday night dinner gala and a jammin’ tailgate party that closed the show. Oh yeah — and an exclusive interview with Daphne Oz, author and former cast member on ABC TV’s The Chew, who was the keynote breakfast speaker.

The winning foursome: The winning foursome: Travis Boyle of Paragon Foods, John Miller of Reed Transport, Jason Whitcher of Mastronardi Produce and Michael Jenks of Reed Transport.
