For the third year in a row Texas grocer H-E-B has topped the Temkin Trust Ratings list. the San Antonio-based chain received an overall consumer trust score of 82 from Waban, MA-based customer experience research firm the Temkin Group, tied with Mercedes Benz.
H-E-B has topped the list for the previous two years with a score of 80, representative of the faith consumers have that an organization is working on their behalf.
Lakeland, FL-based Publix placed ninth at 76 percent, compared with fourth place with the same score last year. at 76 percent last year. Hannaford, an Ahold Delhaize banner headquartered in Scarborough, ME, was the only other grocer on the list, placing 15th with a score of 74 percent.
Last year Trader Joe’s and Costco tied for seventh place; Hyvee was in 10th place and NJ’s Wholesale Club was 12th. None made the list this year.
Supermarkets were the most trusted industry, with 62 percent of consumers giving them the thumbs up. Surprisingly, auto dealers and investment firms ranked two and three.
